Louisville football recruiting has stumbled this week. Today, they found out that one of their top recruits in the class of 2026 committed to Oklahoma State University.

Kaydin Jones is a 4-star running back out of Jenks, Okla. The Cardinals made the 4-star RB's top five schools before his commitment, but came up just short. Jones recently visited the Cardinals earlier this month and scheduled an official visit in June. He will unlikely make that visit, but Louisville could always try and flip the running back to the Cardinals.

The final five schools included Tennessee, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, Kansas and Louisville. The Pokes made a late jump in the recruitment as Jones was in Stillwater this past weekend for a visit.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound running back had 229 rushing attempts for 1,476 rushing yards last season and 17 touchdowns. He also showed off his athleticism as he had 24 receptions for 256 yards and four touchdowns.

The running back out of Oklahoma has had a tremendous high school career as he finished his sophomore season with 2,205 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns. In his three years, he has closed on 4,0000 rushing yards, 3,9998 rushing yards, and 43 touchdowns.

This hasn't been the best week for Jeff Brohm. He recently found out that his 3-star defensive lineman decommitted from the Cardinals and will now most likely commit to Miami or Florida. However, one reason that Jones decided not to pick the Cardinals could be that Louisville just recently landed a different 4-star running back in the class of 2026, Evan Hampton.

Hampton is from Kentucky and is ranked No. 333 in the nation and No. 26 in the running back position. In his three high school seasons, the future Cardinals rushed for 3,284 yards and 51 touchdowns.

The Cardinals have secured two 4-star commitments and eight 3-stars. Louisville football's 11 commitments have them ranked No. 8 in the nation, according to 247Sports.
