Louisville basketball has been trending in the right direction with 4-star wing Colben Landrew for quite some time, but after his latest update, it is clear the Cardinals are one of his top choices.
Recently, Louisville found itself in Landrew's top 10 as it appeared to be in a heated recruiting battle with many SEC giants, including Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M. Also rounding out the list included Louisville, Purdue, and UConn. However, after the latest update on Landrew, the Cardinals fans are confident that they just jumped Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia, as it was reported that the top 20 recruit cancelled his visits to all three schools and won't reschedule, per Rivals Joe Tipton.

Landrew cancelling these three visits is crucial for Pat Kelsey and his Cardinals to try and land their first commitment in the 2026 recruiting class. The 4-star wing is emerging as one of Kelsey's top choices after a dominant summer where he skyrocketed his rankings from being a top 70 recruit in the nation to being ranked as high as No. 17 in the 2026 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wing ranks as high as a 4-star prospect and No. 3 shooting guard. However, with his height and size, many recruiting outlets also view him as a small forward, where he ranks as high as No. 25 in that skilled position per 247Sports.
The Cardinals have yet to earn a commitment in the 2026 class, but many fans truly believe Landrew will be that first domino to fall their way. Louisville is all-in on Kinney and his decision coming September 28, but if they can trend in the right direction with Landrew, maybe that will also help Kinney choose Louisville over Kansas.
Landrew cancelling on three SEC giants is massive news for Louisville, and now they have a few more teams to beat out for the crucial 4-star wing's commitment.
