College basketball fans are just hours away from finding out where the No. 4 recruit in the class of 2025 will commit. Nate Ament, the second-highest-ranked forward and the best player in Virginia, is set to make his official commitment tomorrow evening at the McDonald's All-American game.
Ament averaged 19.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 3.7 assists per game last season and has international experience. He was on Team USA with fellow 5-star Cardinal commit Mikel Brown Jr. The Cardinals nation anxiously awaits where Ament will pick, as his final five schools include Duke, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisville.
It was reported that Joe Tipton of On3 predicted the Cardinals would land Ament, but that prediction came a month ago. Ament and Brown would create a dynamic duo that could draw glaring similarities to Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis, as both players are projected to be a top-10 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Donovan Mitchell sends unreal pitch for 5-star Nate Ament to pick the Cards'
All hands are on deck for the Cardinals to land this 5-star phenom, including one of the greatest Louisville basketball players ever.
Donovan Mitchell, the Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star, was asked about his Cardinals and Ament's huge commitment, which will be announced tomorrow.
"I haven't spoken to him; I don't know if he knows that I would like him to commit," Mitchell stated. "I know Mikel has probably taken to him, but he is a talented man. He would make us really special. We already have a hell of a class and a hell of a team, but Nate, if you're watching this, I'm going to find a way to get in contact with you and hopefully get you over to Louisville, man."
Mitchell played for Louisville in the 2016-17 season, during which time he averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game and was named to the First Team all-ACC. Mitchell's 2017 team is the last Louisville basketball team to win an NCAA Tournament game.
He then became a first-round pick in the NBA draft, as the Utah Jazz selected him as the No. 13 overall pick. He recently broke history and now holds the record for the most All-Star selections in Louisville basketball history.
Mitchell would continue his pitch to Ament by praising Pat Kelsey and all he has done for this Louisville basketball program.

"I have to give Pat Kelsey and the group a lot of credit," Mitchell stated. "Everybody really counted us out. We went through some tough times, but that is part of it. Now, to see us get to the ACC Championship and just continue to beat the odds and get back to the powerhouse that we have always been and is great to see. He has done a phenomenal job. They got a lot of talented guys over there, they got a lot of talented guys coming in, and I am definitely going to be a big part of that for a long time.
Mitchell's pitch to Ament is jaw-dropping as it is perfect. The six-time NBA All-Star is passionate for his Louisville basketball program, and he is expected to be a crucial piece to help the Cardinals land Ament tomorrow afternoon.
