Louisville basketball has been in talks with many elite recruits from the 2026 recruiting class, but lately, the fans have specifically seen one recruit skyrocket up Pat Kelsey's wish list.
Louisville fans are all-in on 5-star point guard Taylen Kinney as his commitment date is just eight days away. The Cardinals are in a heated recruiting battle with five other schools, but it appears to be a two-way race between Louisville and Kansas for the Kentucky native's commitments. However, Louisville is making it known that they want Kinney to be paired up with one of the best shooting guards in the nation, as Kelsey has been on a mission lately to earn rising superstar Colben Landrew's commitment.

Louisville makes another visit to elite 4-star wing
Recently, the Cardinals made Landrew's top 10, and after the 4-star shooting guard cancelled his visits to Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia, the Cardinals are confident that those SEC giants are out of the race.
So, now, after Louisville earned a visit earlier in the summer, and Landrew reportedly stated it was "amazing" and "I loved it", the Cardinals are one of the top favorites. Well, according to HS Recruiting News, the Cardinals paid Landrew another visit a couple of days ago, making it clear they are all-in on this elite shooting guard.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound wing ranks as high as No. 17 in the nation and the No. 3 shooting guard in the class, per Rivals. He has seen his rankings skyrocket after a massive offseason as he has dominated nearly every event he has competed at.
Kelsey is bringing two assistant coaches and himself to visit Landrew, proving how serious they are with Landrew. This wasn't the first visit to Landrew this summer and fall, as the Cardinals visited Landrew earlier in September. The Cardinals started recruiting Landrew a bit later than some of the other teams, but they are now one of the top schools recruiting him, and they are making it well known that they want Landrew in red and black next season.
Louisville is pushing hard for Landrew right now, and hopefully, all this hard work pays off. The 4-star shooting guard is one of the best scorers in the 2026 class, as he is also ranked as a small forward by 247Sports. There, he is ranked No. 21 in the nation and the No. 9-ranked small forward.
Louisville doesn't know when his commitment date is, but Kelsey wants Landrew badly, and the 4-star wing would be a massive commitment for Kelsey and the Louisville Cardinals.
