Louisville football is staying red-hot this week in recruiting as Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow landed their third commitment in four days. The Cardinals learned on Wednesday that Ohio native Munir Lewis committed to the Cardinals, marking the No. 12 commitment in the 2027 recruiting class.

The Cardinals continue to turn heads with this class, as Lewis is a big-time get for Louisville. He recently cut his list down to seven schools, where Ohio State, Illinois, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Purdue, and Virginia Tech all battled Louisville for the coveted 3-star recruit. However, after Louisville hosted him this past Friday for the Spring Game, the Cards earned his commitment.

Earlier this week, the Cardinals landed defensive lineman Kaleb Exume and 3-star Brooklyn Maxey, and now Lewis is joining the Cards' dominant 2027 class. The 3-star defensive end collected over 21 offers, including from every school in his final seven, plus Minnesota, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, and others.

Lewis is coming off an eye-popping junior season where he logged 55 tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, 9.0 sacks, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He commits to Louisville, ranked as high as No. 592 overall in the 2027 recruiting class, No. 50 among edge rushers, No. 23 among Ohio natives, and a consensus 3-star.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end is the Cardinals' fifth Ohio native commitment in the 2027 class so far. Louisville fans have also seen 3-star Xavier Ratica and 3-star Josiah Pouncy commit to the Cardinals, along with 4-stars Chuck Alexander and D'Angelo White.

Louisville’s 2027 recruiting class now ranks as high as No. 5 in the nation. The Cardinals are trending toward making history: they have never had a recruiting class ranked in the top 20, and right now Brohm and Marrow have this class ranked as high as No. 5 in the nation.
