Louisville football is stepping up its recruiting game since Jeff Brohm returned to the Cardinals a few seasons ago. The Cardinals have shown growth and improvement in the recruiting aspect of the transfer portal, as Brohm is set to be led by a transfer quarterback once more.
An area the Cardinals struggled with before was the recruiting aspect out of high school. The Cards struggled to land 4- and 5-star athletes before Brohm arrived, but he is quickly changing that narrative.
The Cardinals 2026 class is raising multiple eyebrows, and after their massive recruiting weekend on May 30, this recruiting class is entering the elite level.

Massive recruiting weekend sparks Louisville football's future
Brohm and the Cardinals hosted over nine recruits this past weekend, and they quickly were able to land three commits just from their visits. Louisville landed two 4-star recruits, including a top-five player from Kentucky in Josiah Hope.
Louisville has now landed four of the top five players from Kentucky and six of the top 10. The Cardinals' 2026 cycle has already earned five 4-star recruits, the most since the 2023 class, when they secured seven.
Louisville has earned a total of 17 commitments in the class of 2026, with an average rating of 87.26, per 247Sports. The Cardinals' 17 commits rank them No. 10 in the nation and No. 2 in the ACC as of early June, according to 247Sports.
This elite recruiting class is erasing any narrative the Cardinals have as they are ranked the highest a recruiting class has ever been ranked for the Cards' since Louisville joined the ACC. Louisville has been ranked in the top five only once in the ACC for their recruiting class, as the 2023 class was ranked No. 4.
The Cardinals' 2026 class is led by 4-star Jaydin Broadnax, the Cardinals' highest-ranked commit since the 2023 class. Louisville's 2026 class has the nation on notice and is making it clear that Brohm is setting the standard for the Louisville Cardinals.
This program is here to stay, and while many fans and experts are overlooking the Cardinals, the 2026 recruiting class should prove that this program is taking massive strides in the right direction.
