The Louisville Cardinals officially signed Adrian Wooley, a 5-star transfer commit from Kennesaw State, this afternoon. The Cardinals are thrilled to have earned Wooley's commitment, as he is highly ranked this offseason. He is a unanimous top-seven player in the transfer portal and is ranked as high as No. 5 by 247Sports.

Wooley committed to the Cardinals last week on April 1 and was the first domino to fall their way. After Wooley had signed with Louisville, two more top-15 players, Isaac McKneely and Ryan Conwell, committed to the Cardinals, joining Wooley, making one of the best backcourts in the nation.

Pat Kelsey officially broke his silence Thursday afternoon as the University of Louisville released an official statement on Wooley's signing. Kelsey's statement provides excellent insight into how good Wooley will be for this Cardinals team and why Louisville hit the jackpot with this 5-star from Kennesaw State.

Louisville needed an elite two-way guard who could drive to the rim and finish through contact but also be a sharpshooter from beyond the arc, and they got all that and more with Wooley's commitment. The 5-star Kennesaw State transfer was the C-USA Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-C-USA First-Team.

Pat Kelsey broke the internet with the best reaction to Wooley committing to the Cardinals. Still, Louisville fans haven't heard an official statement from him about his offseason additions until today. The University of Louisville released an official statement after Wooley officially signed with Pat Kelsey and the Louisville Cardinals this afternoon.

"Adrian was one of the nation's top producing freshman this past year," Kelsey stated in the statement. "He is a two-way player who can guard multiple positions. He is a dynamic scorer and playmaker with a high basketball IQ."

Kelsey's statement revealed the glaring skills that attracted the Cardinals to this elite playmaker, as Wooley averaged 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in his impressive freshman season. The true freshman is the second-best freshman to enter the portal by On3 and 247Sports, which implies that Louisville has a player who should help lead this program for many years.

"As we did our background on him, it was apparent that his approach, character, and professionalism match his talent. He has endeared himself to Card Nation already by being the first player to say 'Yes' in the portal, and that love will only grow when he puts the jersey on."

The 6-foot-five combo guard has tremendous skill and craftiness, and the head coach of the Louisville Cardinals is thrilled to have him on his team. Louisville is expected to be one of the best teams in the nation because of Wooley's commitment, as he and Mikel Brown Jr will be a lethal duo in the Cardinals' backcourt.
