Louisville basketball lands its first commitment in the 2025 transfer portal, and it is a massive splash. The Cardinals secured a commitment from Adrian Wooley, who transferred out of Kennesaw State.
Wooley is ranked as high as the No. 3 overall player in the transfer portal by 247Sports and is a 5-star player. Wooley averaged 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc.
The elite shooter picked the Cardinals over Alabama, Auburn, and Kansas. This is expected to be just the beginning for Kelsey's Cardinals, as Louisville is likely to spend up to $10 million this offseason.
Louisville basketball lands massive 5-star recruit in transfer portal over SEC giants
Louisville basketball was in desperate needs for a lethal shooter and they got one of the best available in Wooley. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard shot 52 percent from the floor and an impressive 42 percent from downtown last season.
Joe Tipton broke the news to the Cardinals faithful, and Louisville basketball fans are smiling everywhere. Wooley was a dream target for this program as he is the perfect fit for the Cardinals to improve their 3-point shooting.

Last season, the sharpshooter out of Alabama connected on 73 total threes, including 13 games with three or more 3-pointers in a single game. That impressive shooting would lead him to have 20 points or more in 15 games for the Owls.

Wooley is a unanimous top five player in the portal as On3 had him at No. 4. The true freshman earned Conference-USA Freshman of the Year, First-Team All-CUSA honors, and All-CUSA Tournament Team.
This could be the first domino to fall the Cardinal's way, and then a bunch could start flooding in, including a 5-star recruit in the 2025 class, Nate Ament. Ament just pushed his announcement back but is expected to decide soon. The Cardinals have only lost one player to the transfer portal, as Koren Johnson entered his name last week.
Kelsey and his Cardinals are looking to end the program's eight-year drought without an NCAA Tournament win, and Wooley is the player they need to achieve that goal. The Cardinals will look to hear some more good news from Isaac McKneely, as the No.10 player in the portal just visited Louisville this past weekend.
For all the latest on Louisville basketball's offseason, stay tuned.
