Louisville basketball went 1-1 this past week after jumping into the rankings for the first time in four years.

Louisville has a spot in third place as of today in the ACC standings, after their 72-59 victory over Wake Forest. Chucky Hepburn and Terrence Edwards Jr. are clicking on all cylinders and receiving the a lot of the media spotlight. Hepburn is filling the stat sheet as he is averaging 15 points, 6 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Pat Kelsey. Kelsey has turned this entire program around, where the Cardinals were 8-24 last season, 4-28 in 2023 and a combine record of 25-71 in the last three seasons. But, all good things must come to an end as, Louisville basketball 10 game win streak came to an end Saturday, Feb. 1 against Georgia Tech, 77-70.

The Cardinals upset loss Saturday, caused them to drop in the AP Poll rankings and the disrespect is almost like a slap in the face.

The shocking truth behind Louisville basketball's rankings snub

Louisville basketball has two games in the upcoming week and looks to get back in the win column, as they fell in their most recent game to Georgia Tech causing them to drop out of the rankings.

Louisville basketball jumped into the rankings last week for the first time in over four years, however it was shortly lived. They moved up to No.21 after their 10 game win stream, but the AP voters seem to think this upset loss was enough to drop them out.

UofL fans may be a little annoyed by the rankings, but something to consider is control the controllables and look ahead. Cardinals have one of the easiest schedules remaining and some even predict them to go undefeated.

Louisville has a favorable remaining schedule and was even picked as a dark horse favorite and the "next best thing behind Duke" according to Jay Williams.

In UofL remanning strength of schedule they play two teams with an above .500 ACC record. The Cardinals play Stanford and California to conclude the regular season, but both games are at home.

"I think that Louisville was going to be undefeated until we get to March 1." Williams stated on College Gameday. "When you look at their schedule, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Miami, NC State, Notre Dame, FSU, Virginia Tech, obviously, there are really good opponents there, but I think this Louisville team is still an underrated team,"

Cardinals have a manageable schedule and might even may be favored the rest of the way. UofL is at Boston College, and home vs Miami this upcoming week. Cardinals should get back in the win column as these two programs are two of the three worst teams in the ACC. Miami and Boston College have a combine ACC record of 3-18 and overall record of 15-28.

If the Cardinals can just take care of business and beat these weaker ACC opponents, they will get the ranking they deserve not only in the AP Rankings, but the March Madness seeding. If Cardinals can win out it would be another testament to Pat Kelsey long winning streak, and lead Louisville basketball to a 25-6 regular season record.

Louisville basketball next game is Feb. 5 at Boston College at 5 p.m. local time on ACC Network.
