Louisville football is having an eye-popping 2027 recruiting class, with the Cardinals landing 14 recruits so far. Jeff Brohm continues to turn heads with this recruiting class, which is ranked in the top 15 nationally, but sometimes not everything goes his way.
Louisville's eye-popping 2027 class gets even stronger after 4-star commit surges
The Cardinals were in the final four for 4-star recruit Miles Brown, but Louisville fans learned Tuesday afternoon that the 4-star committed to Louisville’s in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats.
Kentucky lands 4-star Miles Brown over Louisville and others
The 6-foot cornerback earned over 11 offers, including from Vanderbilt, Purdue, Mississippi State, and Maryland, but late last week the 4-star cut his list to just four, ultimately committing to Kentucky over Louisville, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Brown ranked as high as No. 430 in the 2027 recruiting class and No. 42 among cornerbacks. After he cut the list to four teams, On3 Sports gave Tennessee a dominant 88% chance of earning Brown’s commitment, but the Wildcats not only stole him from the Volunteers, but Will Stein was able to land the 4-star over Brohm.
Kentucky and Louisville now each have a top-15 recruiting class, as Stein has the Wildcats climbing in the rankings and ranked No. 10 in the nation in the 247Sports 2027 Recruit Football Team Rankings, and Brohm isn’t far behind at No. 15.
While Brown would have been a big get for Brohm, Louisville has already landed multiple 4-star defensive backs, including Louisville native Allen Evans. The 4-star commitment is the 6th highest rated Louisville commit in program history, and is the highest rated commitment in the Cards' 2027 class.
Brohm and Vince Marrow have shown early that they want to dominate the state of Kentucky in this 2027 recruiting class, as they have landed four of the top 10 recruits from the home state. With Brown committing to Kentucky, other names Louisville fans should keep a close eye on include Kentucky natives Malachi Brown and Dre'mail Carothers
