Louisville basketball has been making a lot of noise recently in the 2027 recruiting class. The Cardinals are trending with multiple key recruits, including some in the top 10. The Cardinals made Demarcus Henry’s final eight earlier this summer, who ranks No. 3 overall in the nation.
And just this week, Louisville fans learned they earned an official visit from 5-star recruit and the No. 8 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, Moussa Kamissoko. On top of those two 5-stars, the Cardinals already landed an unofficial visit from the No. 1 overall prospect, CJ Rosser.
So, the Cardinals are trending in the right direction in the 2027 recruiting cycle. However, Louisville fans did learn Saturday that the Cardinals were not included in one of the nation’s top recruits' final 10, Nasir Anderson.
5-star PG Nasir Anderson cuts his list to 10 schools
Anderson is a top-10 recruit in the 2027 recruiting cycle and one of the top-ranked point guards in the 2027 cycle. He is a guard Louisville and Cardinals fans had an eye on early in the recruiting class, but the Cardinals slowly began to drift away from Anderson.
The Cardinals were one of the first major programs to extend an offer to Anderson back on June 15, and since then he has earned over 33 offers. However, the Cardinals weren’t one of the ten schools to move on to his final list, as the 5-star point guard cut his list to Kentucky, North Carolina, UConn, Providence, Syracuse, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The 6-foot-4 point guard is an explosive guard who can score at an elite level. He ranks as high as No. 8 overall and No. 2 among point guards, and while he is a unanimous 5-star recruit, it is clear Louisville has its eyes on another point guard.
Kelsey has been making a strong push for 5-star recruit Reese Alston. Kelsey attended multiple games of Alston’s this summer and continues to build that relationship with the point guard. The Cardinals recently received a prediction from On3 Sports' Jamie Shaw that Alston will commit, with a “Medium” confidence level.
So, while Anderson is one of the top-ranked point guards in the class and an elite point guard, the Cardinals fans aren’t too crushed about this, as they have their eyes on the No. 6 overall recruit in the nation for the point guard position.
