Louisville and Kentucky in heated recruiting battle for 5-star PG

Louisville basketball received excellent news from a 5-star point guard, Taylen Kinney, who is set to visit the Cardinals on June 5. The Atlanta, Ga. native is the perfect replacement for Mikel Brown Jr. once the incoming freshman declares for the NBA Draft. Kinney is ranked as the 16th-best player in the class of 2026 and the fourth-best point guard.

Louisville appears to be in a heated recruiting battle with its in-state rivals, the Kentucky Wildcats. According to On3 Sports, Mark Pope's Wildcats have a 25.8 percent chance of landing the 5-star, and the Cardinals are right behind them with a 22.6 percent chance.

Louisville football makes 4-star DL top 5

Louisville football learned that they will not only earn a visit from four-defensive linemen Cameron McHaney but that Jeff Brohm and company also landed in the elite four-star's top five. McHaney is ranked as high as No. 395 in the class of 2026 as the Cardinals now enter a fierce recruiting battle against Purdue, Illinois, Vanderbilt, and Indiana.

The Florida native shifted his visits around. He will now visit Louisville first, pushing his visit to Illinois to a different date. The 4-star's official visit with the Cardinals is June 6-8. On3 Sports gives the Cardinals the third-best chance to land a 6-foot-1, 315-pound lineman. McHaney will announce his decision this summer on July 1.

Louisville baseball awaits NCAA Tournament draw

Louisville baseball was shocked on Tuesday afternoon, as the No. 21 Cardinals fell to the Pittsburgh Panthers in a 13-11 battle. The Cardinals were down 8-1 at one point and ended up tying the game up at 11 in the 8th inning. However, after a two-run home run in the top of the ninth, Louisville was knocked out of the 2025 ACC Baseball Championship Tournament.

Dan McDonnell and his Cardinals will now shift their focus to the 2025 NCAA Tournament and wait to see where they will play. Entering the ACC Tournament, many experts predicted the Cardinals as a two-seed in the regional region. However, after the loss to Pitt, the Cardinals' baseball fans anxiously await the Selection Show on Monday to see what seed the Cardinals will be.
