Louisville basketball has been trending toward many Kentucky native players in the 2026 cycle, but their No. 1 target is crystal clear after his historic performance for Team USA. Tyran Stokes is a consensus 5-star recruit and the No. 1 recruit in the 2026 cycle, and while Louisville is the favorite to land him, Kentucky and Kansas are catching up fast.
Stokes is on the Team USA U19 squad right now and is playing in the FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup, and on Wednesday, he earned the first-ever triple-double by an American basketball player at a FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup.

Louisville football projected to rip 4-star commit from Kentucky
Louisville football learned some excellent news Tuesday as college football expert Steve Wiltfong predicted the Cardinals to land 4-star Jarvis Strickland. The Cardinals emerged as the early favorites after Jeff Brohm ripped Vince Marrow from Kentucky, but after the expert's prediction, it is clear Marrow is already bringing elite talent to the Cardinals program.
Strickland decommitted from Kentucky just 10 days after Marrow announced he would leave the Wildcats for the Cardinals. Kentucky lost its best recruiter and now one of its best commitments to the Cards' as Strickland is ranked No. 206 in the nation, No. 16 for the offensive tackle position, and the No. 1 player from Kentucky.

Chucky Hepburn inks two-way deal
Former Louisville basketball star Chucky Hepburn officially inked his two-way deal with the Toronto Raptors. The former ACC Defensive Player of the Year is expected to play for the Raptors in the Summer League in Las Vegas.
Raptors fans are excited to see Hepburn's defense and tenacity. Toronto wanted some help on the defensive side, and with their first-round pick, Collin Murray-Boyles, and Hepburn averaging 2.4 steals per game, the former Cardinal has a legitimate shot at being a key piece off the bench next season.

Former Cardinals playing in NBA Summer League
Also making it to the NBA Summer League will be Terrence Edwards Jr. and Reyne Smith. Edwards will play for the Milwaukee Bucks, while Smith will play for the Denver Nuggets.
Both players were key pieces for Kelsey's Cardinals last season, and in just one season with Louisville, they made a massive impact on the program's future. The NBA Summer League will start Saturday, July 5.
