A lot happened this week, and we are here to break down every major news item in the Louisville Cardinals program.
The Louisville Cardinals programs had a massive recruiting week. Pat Kelsey led the charge and secured three massive transfer portal additions. Jeff Brohm and his staff tried to replicate Kelsey's magic and brought in a recruit himself. Baseball went through a tough six-game stretch, but the Cardinals have regained their groove.
We will review all three programs, briefly recapping each program's successful week and what fans can expect moving forward.
Louisville basketball poised for National Championship run
Pat Kelsey and the Louisville men's basketball program secured one 5-star and two 4-star prospects in the transfer portal this past week. Adrian Wooley, the No. 3 overall player, is a lethal shooting guard transferring from Kennesaw State and will now become the Cardinals' starting shooting guard. Backing Wooley up will be the Cardinals' most recent addition, Isaac McKneely. The Cardinals secured this sharpshooter from Virginia as he was ranked as the No. 10 best player in the portal. Last but certainly not least, Louisville added the sharpshooter from Xavier, Ryan Conwell. All three additions shot 40 percent or higher last season from beyond the arc and made 70 3-pointers or more.
The Cardinals' backcourt is now expected to be one of the best in the nation and will be expected to make a deep March run. The transfer portal will remain open until April 22 as the Cardinals might not be done yet. A key piece they might target is the power forward position.
The No. 4 overall prospect, Nate Ament, pushed his commitment date back. Louisville seems to have built the perfect roster for Ament to pick, as the 5-star recruit would fit perfectly next to the three new Cardinals. Ament has yet to release a new commitment date.

Louisville football preps for spring game and lands 3-star WR
The Cardinals football program is just a week away from its annual Spring Game, which will take place on April 11. Jeff Brohm and his staff look to put on a show for the Cardinals faithful, as many fans are excited to see what this explosive offense will look like. Louisville will get a chance to showcase its new quarterback, Miller Moss, who will run the offense alongside Isaac Brown and Caullin Lacy.
Brohm and his Cardinals landed a severely underrated 3-star prospect as Gavin Waddell committed to Louisville football a couple of days ago. Waddell is a North Carolina native who secured back-to-back 1,000 receiving yards in the last two seasons. On3 sports put Wadell as high as the No. 140 wide receiver in the class of 2026. The elite playmaker on the outside secured 133 catches for 2,040 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in his final two seasons with Rolesville High School.
According to 247Sports, the Cardinals are now ranked No. 8 in the nation for their 13 commitments in the class of 2026.
Louisville baseball wins four straight
Louisville baseball started the 2025 season hot and secured a massive series win over the No. 6 team in the nation, the North Carolina Tar Heels. However, following that series, the Cardinals lost four of six games, which would take them out of the nation's top 25.
The Cardinals have won four straight and are 23-7 overall. Louisville is coming off a dominant win over Boston College as the Cardinals beat the Eagles 17-5 in seven innings. Louisville has secured the series win and will now go for the sweep on their home field this afternoon.
Following the Cardinals' series with Boston College, Louisville will host its in-state rival, the Kentucky Wildcats, on Tuesday, April 8.
