Louisville basketball is in full recruiting mode right now as Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals are making offers left and right to multiple 5-star recruits in the 2026 cycle. The summer is, without a doubt, the biggest recruiting season for college sports, and Kelsey's staff is working double-time right now.

The Cardinals received significant news from On3 Sports, as they are now the favorite to land the 5-star guard and consensus No. 1 player out of New Jersey, Deron Rippey Jr. Louisville's 30.4 percent chance of earning his commitment is now the best among the top contenders. The second-best chance belongs to Alabama at 26.6 percent.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound is ranked as high as No. 18 in the nation and is quickly emerging as the perfect target.

Louisville football steals recruit right from Kentucky after key visit

Vince Marrow's signing is already proving it is going to be a big-time homerun, as Louisville football rips top recruit from Kentucky. The Cardinals earned a key commitment from offensive lineman Benjamin Corhei.

Rivals Fan Future Cast gave Kentucky a 100 percent chance of landing Corhei's commitment, while On3 Sports gave the Wildcats a 42.9 percent chance. However, Louisville was able to swipe him after he visited Jeff Brohm this past weekend.

6-foot-5, 270-pound lineman is ranked as high as No. 949 in the nation and the No. 55 offensive lineman in 2026. Louisville earned his commitment over elite programs like Arkansas, Florida State, Indiana, Miami, Pittsburgh, Tulane, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others.
