Louisville basketball and football are having a busy week. These two programs are trending up and making a name for themselves in recruiting.
Jeff Brohm and his staff are becoming not only one of the best recruiting spots in the ACC but also a primary spot in the nation. This week, Brohm continued the spring trend and secured a monumental recruit for this program.
Pat Kelsey and his Cardinals' season may have ended, but they continue to attack the transfer portal. We are doing our best to cover all Lousiville basketball transfer updates. We will provide coverage below of who Kelsey is targeting, who he is realistically targeting, and his primary options.
So, here is a Louisville basketball transfer portal update and a Louisville football recruiting update.
Louisville basketball transfer portal update
The transfer portal has been absolutely hectic and nearly impossible to keep up with. However, the rundown of who has entered the transfer portal from the Cardinals side is easy: no one.
Kelsey has been fortunate enough that not a single player from last season has entered the portal yet. The portal will remain open until April 22. Now, Louisville has been a dominant force in the transfer portal as last year they brought in 12 players, including First-Team All ACC Chucky hepburn,
Kelsey is an elite recruiter who recently stated on OutKick's podcast that they are refreshing the portal "every 15-and-a-half seconds" and are quickly evaluating and film-studying these players. We have covered all of the top portal players Louisville has reached out to, and even some of the under-the-radar players.

Louisville football recruiting update
Wow, what a get for Jeff Brohm and this Louisville football program. Yesterday afternoon, the Cardinals landed 4-star wide receiver Payton Cook. Cook is an excellent wide receiver out of Akron, Ohio.
Cook is ranked as high as the No. 141 prospect in the nation, according to Rivals, and is the No. 284 recruit, per 247Sports. This elite playmaker is now the highest commitment for the Cardinals, with an impressive 12 commits in the class of 2025.
According to 247Sports, the Cardinals are now ranked No. 7 in the nation for their 12 commitments in the class of 2026.
The Cardinals did, unfortunately, hear some bad news on Wednesday. One of their top 4-star recruits ended up picking an in-state program. Kaydin Jones selected Oklahoma State as the 4-star running back out of Jenks, and Okla. chose a school outside the top five schools he listed earlier this month.
