Louisville basketball was in a heated recruiting battle for 5-star transfer Milan Momcilovic over the past couple of weeks, and on Monday, the Cardinals fans learned where he committed. The 5-star power forward officially committed to Kentucky over Louisville and Arizona after Mark Pope and the Wildcats reportedly offered him north of $6.5 million.
Momcilovic is ranked right behind Flory Bidunga in the portal, which would have meant the Cards would have landed the top two transfers in the portal if the 5-star had committed to Louisville. He was the No. 2 overall transfer in the portal as he was the clear best 3-point shooter this past season, shooting 48.7 percent from beyond the arc while making 136 3s.

Louisville basketball earns major respect in latest way-too-early rankings
Despite the Cardinals not landing the 5-star forward, Pat Kelsey and the Cardinals receive major respect in FanSided’s most recent way-too-early rankings. The Cards were ranked No. 10 in the nation, as Kelsey’s dominant offseason landed two 5-stars, multiple 4-stars and the No. 1 overall Transfer Portal class in the nation.
The Cardinals are still right there in the mix at the top of the league, and if they are ranked No. 10 or higher to start the season, they will be ranked higher than last season. This Cards team has a real chance to go on a deep run in March and April next season and is emerging as a true Final Four contender, as shown by its ranking of No. 10 in these recent rankings.

Jeff Brohm and Louisville land 4-star ATH AJ Tillman Jr.
Louisville football and Jeff Brohm land another 4-star recruit in the 2027 recruiting class, as AJ Tillman Jr. committed to the Cardinals Monday evening. The 4-star played running back as well as defense the past couple of seasons, as he earned 1,502 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns, along with 19 catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
He is ranked as a 4-star recruit by multiple sources, including ESPN, which ranks him as high as No. 226 in the 2027 cycle. He committed to the Cards after earning over 30 offers, including from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Auburn, and Colorado. The 4-star recently visited Louisville this past weekend, and it appears Brohm and Vince Marrow ultimately convinced him to commit to the Cardinals over these major programs.
