Louisville football fans are keeping a close eye on their 2027 recruiting class, as Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow landed multiple 4-star recruits, including multiple in-state. There are a few who really stand out, like AJ Tillman Jr., who ranks as high as No. 127 in the nation, but the one Cards fans are locked in on at the moment is the Louisville native, Ja’Hyde Brown.
Louisville has a major fight on its hands to keep its top commitment Ja'Hyde Brown
The 4-star wide receiver has surged as one of the top wide receivers in the country in this class, and now Brohm is battling to keep him a Cardinal. Brown has emerged on everyone’s flip chart, as he recently visited Florida and then added three more SEC visits.
This obviously raised major concerns about whether Brown was really considering flipping. Well, Louisville fans just got a major update on Brown’s recruiting process, as 247Sports Jacob Polacheck reported that the 4-star commit canceled his upcoming visits.
Ja'Hyde Brown just canceled two major recruiting visits
Brown was scheduled to visit Kentucky this past weekend and had two more visits lined up with Oklahoma on October 17 and Texas on October 24. Cardinals fans got the update they wanted: the Louisville native reportedly canceled his upcoming visits to both SEC schools.

Brown is the Cardinals' top commitment in the 2027 recruiting class, surging from No. 252 to No. 66 and recently moving up again to No. 32 overall in the nation, according to Rivals. The 4-star wide receiver is on everyone’s 5-star radar as he eyes a chance to make history this senior season.
Right now, he is chasing multiple records. He is just six touchdowns away from breaking the all-time single-season state record and 14 touchdowns away from the national single-season record. The Christian Academy of Louisville star wide receiver has logged 62 catches for 1,047 yards and 25 touchdowns in just eight games, playing in only 19 of 32 quarters.
He originally committed to Indiana, but decommitted and committed to the Cardinals earlier this year. Brown canceling his visits is a huge step in the right direction for Louisville, but this recruiting process isn’t over just yet. It sounds like Brown wants to stay loyal and be a hometown hero for the Cardinals, which is music to Cardinals fans' ears.
Now they need to get to signing day and make it official so Louisville fans don’t have to worry anymore. Brown ranks No. 5 among wide receivers and No. 2 among in-state recruits.
