Louisville football's roster is mostly set, and the team is starting to get some recognition for its stacked offense. Jeff Brohm and his staff had a solid offseason as they attacked some glaring weaknesses in the transfer portal, making this offense one of the best in the ACC.
The Cards' got high praise from USA Today, with Louisville ranked No. 16 in the nation and No. 3 in the ACC in their way-too-early rankings after the spring portal and teams' Spring Games. This is the highest Louisville is ranked by any news outlet or expert, as USA Today is putting Louisville football in the College Football Playoff conversation with this ranking.
Louisville will try to replicate last year's offense, with Miller Moss under center and preseason All-American Isaac Brown starting at running back. The Cardinals will have some elite talent on the outside as Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy have the potential to be All-ACC wide receivers.

Louisville football recruiting surge
The Cardinals' class of 2026 continues to rise in the team rankings. Louisville football recruiting is skyrocketing under Jeff Brohm as 247Sports ranked them No. 13, and On3 Sports ranked them No. 22 after their recent update.
The Cardinals are ranked No. 4 in the ACC in both rankings, and their 13 commitments are the best they have had in quite some time. Louisville's class of 2025 was ranked last in the ACC as they landed zero 4-stars. However, Brohm worked overtime and landed four 4-stars according to On3 Sports, making it a glaring reason they are ranked so high nationally.

Louisville football makes final 3 for under-the-radar RB
Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals learned excellent news last week from the under-the-radar 3-star running back, Lekhy Thompkins. The Tennessee native announced that the Cards are one of three schools remaining in his recruitment, as the Cardinals will not go up against just Memphis and Minnesota.
According to On3 Sports, the running back is ranked No. 31 in Tennessee, the 59th-best running back, and 960th-best recruit in the nation in the class of 2026.
The 6-foot-1, 227-pound running back currently attends the University School of Jackson and rushed for 892 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. Thompson is in the 2026 class and will look to improve the Cardinals' elite class and be the 14th player to commit. His commitment date is set for May 23.
