Louisville basketball is making a strong push to be a legitimate National Title contender. The Cardinals are having an impressive offseason, and Pat Kelsey has this program trending in the right direction.

Milan Momcilovic’s NBA Draft decision may now be obvious after latest update

This offseason, the Cards lost all five starters and nine of their top 10 players from the previous season, but Kelsey completely rebuilt the roster and has Louisville in the mix for a preseason top-10 ranking. While the Cardinals are already a Final Four contender, Kelsey and Louisville might be looking to add one more piece and create that “superteam” Flory Bidunga talked about.

All eyes are on Iowa State transfer Milan Momcilovic, who made it clear he wants to stay in the NBA Draft, but NBA Executives might have just revealed there is a high chance he will return to college basketball.

Louisville basketball’s dream offseason may not be finished yet

Louisville fans are glued to the Momcilovic updates, as Jeff Goodman reported that Louisville is one of the frontrunners and is in the mix for the 5-star, along with Kentucky and St. John’s. Goodman stated he believes Momcilovic will return to college basketball, but Louisville fans got some good news this weekend when he asked 10 NBA executives whether Momcilovic should return to college basketball or stay in the NBA Draft, and the vote was unanimous in favor of returning to college.

Momcilovic is an elite 6-foot-8 forward who can play small forward and power forward. He was the best 3-point shooter in college basketball this past season, as he made the most 3’s in Division I basketball with a dominant 136, while also shooting the highest 3-point percentage at 48.7 percent.

When looking at the Cardinals' roster, fans are in agreement for the most part: if Kelsey were to add another piece, they would want either another true power forward or a 3-point specialist. Well, with Momcilovic, it would be a two-in-one package that would put Louisville in the conversation for a top-five ranking and as one of the top favorites for the upcoming season.

May 27 is the date Louisville fans need to keep their eyes on, as Momcilovic and Flory Bidunga will have to either withdraw from the NBA Draft by 11:59 p.m. or they will stay in the NBA Draft and won’t return to college basketball. All NBA executives voting Momcilovic should return is another good sign the 5-star will likely play college basketball next season, which means Kelsey has a golden opportunity to try and land the top two players in the Transfer Portal and snap Louisville’s NCAA Title drought.
