Louisville basketball fans learned over the weekend that the Cardinals' assistant coach and Louisville basketball legend, Peyton Siva, is expected to leave UofL to reunite with his former head coach, Rick Pitino, at St. John’s. Siva was the Director of Player Development and Basketball Alumni Relations this past season and was then promoted to a full-time assistant for the upcoming season.
However, he will now join Pitino in the Big East and look to win their second National Title together. Siva was part of the 2013 team at UofL when the Cardinals won the National Championship together. The guard won the Big East Tournament Most Valuable Player award twice and went on to make the All-NCAA Tournament during that 2013 National Title run. Siva was inducted into Louisville’s Hall of Fame in 2025.

Louisville native moves up in 2028 recruiitng class rankings
Louisville football fans have their eyes on a massive dream target in the 2028 recruiting class. Louisville has one of the city’s highest-rated recruits in the 2028 recruiting class, as a 5-star defensive lineman just rose in the cycle and is now ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation and No. 1 among defensive linemen.
The 5-star Louisville native currently attends Christian Academy of Louisville, where the Cardinals' 4-star wide receiver commit Ja’Hyde Brown also plays. Hall is the Cardinals fans' glaring No. 1 dream target as the 5-star secured 53 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks this past season. Even with him from Louisville, it won’t be easy for Jeff Brohm and the Cardinals, but Louisville fans are dreaming big with this one.

Louisville adds Michigan to their non-conference schedule
Louisville basketball just added one more game to its non-conference schedule, and it will be another huge test for the Cardinals. Pat Kelsey isn’t ducking any smoke this upcoming season as Louisville just added the reigning national champions, the Michigan Wolverines.
The Wolverines are ranked No. 5 in ESPN’s way-too-early rankings and currently have the fifth-highest odds to win the 2027 National Title. The Cardinals and the Wolverines are set to play at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Dec. 5.
Louisville will now play Texas on Dec. 1, Michigan on Dec. 5 and Kentucky on Dec. 12.
