Louisville football has a dream recruiting move worth making after Ja'Hyde Brown's surge

It is a long-shot, but it is worth trying.

Yesterday, Louisville football and the Cardinals fans learned one of their 2027 commitments soared in Rivals' updated rankings. Louisville native and elite 4-star wide receiver Ja’Hyde Brown got the recognition he deserved from the recruiting media outlet, as he was one of the biggest risers in the update.

Brown jumped nearly 200 spots in this update, moving up 186 spots and is now ranked as high as No. 66 in the 2027 recruiting class. The 4-star wide receiver from Christian Academy of Louisville is now the Cardinals' top-ranked commitment in the 2027 class and is one of the highest-ranked commitments in program history.

With him moving up to No. 66 in the 2027 recruiting class, the Cardinals fans have a dream target, and it is a familiar target, Allen Evans.

Louisville football just got the perfect reason to make one last push for Allen Evans

Now, this is highly unlikely, but in our opinion, it is worth a shot if you are Jeff Brohm and Vince Marrow. Evans is a 4-star cornerback from Louisville, and if the name sounds familiar, well, that is because he was committed to Louisville.

Evans committed to Louisville in January after choosing the Cardinals over major programs like Alabama, Penn State, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. However, Evans decommitted from the Cardinals and flipped his commitment to Vanderbilt for a larger deal, completely gut-wrenching the Cards and their fans.

Well, now with Brown soaring to No. 66 in the nation, Brohm and Marrow should get back on the phone and try to contact Evans immediatley. The dream of pairing the two Louisville natives once again, and this time with both being top 100 recruits in the 2027 cycle.

It is a long shot, we know, but it is one worth taking, and Louisville fans saw something similar in the 2026 recruiting class. One of the top recruits from the state of Kentucky in the 2026 cycle, Josiah Hope originally committed to Louisville, then flipped to Purdue, then back to Louisville, and ultimately flipped again to Purdue, where he ultimately signed.

Now, the Cardinals fans are dreaming of a similar situation where, maybe with Brown soaring up in the rankings, just maybe Evans will want to join the Louisville native teammate in the city they both grew up in and try to create one of the best classes in program history.

Evans attends Trinity High School, where he is one of the best lockdown cornerbacks in the nation, not allowing a single touchdown this past season. Right now, the 4-star Louisville native ranks as high as No. 76 in the nation, No. 9 among cornerbacks, and No. 2 among recruits from the state of Kentucky.

Once again, this is a long shot and a prayer from us and Louisville fans, but it feels like Brohm and Marrow should get on the phone and at least try to pull off the impossible and pair these two elite 4-star Louisville natives once again.
