Louisville football hosted its first fall camp practice on Thursday, and the story of the day was the Cardinals' star running back Isaac Brown. Unfortunately, not because he was blowing everyone away with his speed and how he was practicing, but because he was on the sidelines.
Brohm gave a minor update after practice, stating, “apparently, we just got to get him a little healthier,” but other than that, he didn’t have any further updates. Outside of Brown being on the sideline, one other player on the sideline caught some eyes, but this one isn’t a current Cardinal but a future Cardinal.

One of Louisville’s highest-rated commitments in program history, Ja’Hyde Brown, was reportedly in attendance for the Cardinals first fall practice, according to WHAS11 News Matt McGavic.
The 4-star wide receiver commitment is the Cardinals' highest-rated commitment in the 2027 class, and is one of the highest commitments in program history. Brown ranks as high as No. 66 overall in the 2027 recruiting class, after he skyrocketed up the rankings.
Before Rivals updated their rankings, Brown ranked No. 252 overall in the 2027 cycle and No. 49 among wide receivers, but after winning MVP at the Rivals Opening event this summer, the local 4-star was one of the biggest risers in the class.
Now, the Louisville native ranks as high as No. 11 among wide receivers, and MaxPreps ranked him the No. 1 recruit out of Kentucky. The Cardinals fans are excited to hear he is on campus for Louisville’s first practice, as there is some concern about the local star flipping his commitment, like 4-star Louisville native Allen Evans.
Evans flipped from Louisville to Vanderbilt earlier this offseason, and after Brown won the MVP this summer and soared in the rankings, multiple programs are reaching out. The 4-star wide receiver has been on the Cardinals fans flip radar for quite some time now, as Alabama, Auburn, Arizona State, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, and Kentucky have all reportedly reached out.
Brohm and Vince Marrow just have to get to the official signing day and see Brown make it official, and once that happens, Louisville fans will be able to take a deep breath.
Brown currently attends Christian Academy of Louisville, where he dominated his junior season, earning 98 catches for 1,556 yards and 24 touchdowns.
